ZAP Asthma Collection
Scope and Contents
The paper materials within the collection include information on topics such as: asthma, allergens, education on decreasing prevalence/impact of asthma in children, smoking cessation/impact of smoking, dust mites, cockroaches. Some of these paper materials were created internally, and others are from partner organizations. There are also papers used within the organization for internal record keeping by community health workers.

Biographical / Historical
ZAP Asthma (1997-2005) was a public-private health consortium focused on decreasing the prevalence of asthma in children in Atlanta through community outreach, education, and research. The consortium was started using funding from the Atlanta Empowerment Zone project, started by Mayor Bill Campbell. The consortium also received funding and support from many local and national organizations, including The Environmental Protection Agency, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American Lung Association of Georgia.
