Scope and Contents

The Black Church History collection consists of items from various churches in the Atlanta area and throughout the South. These items range from church histories to annual events and programs. These materials give insight into these various religious institutions and their community efforts. The date ranges of this collection are 1970-2002.

Scope and Contents

Christians for Change Baptist Church is located in Riverdale, GA and was officially established in 1995. The church continues to serve as a house of worship for its community, and is currently under the leadership of Reverend Michael Wayne Baldwin.

This collection includes programs, photographs, and ephemera materials. Majority of the collection was donated by member Gloria Strong.

Overview The collection consists of papers of Edward Randolph Carter and Andrew Jackson Lewis from ca. 1890-1985. The papers include correspondence, printed material, photographs, financial records, clippings, a diary (1942) documenting Lewis' military service during World War II, and ephemera. Early materials (1905-1942) pertain to Carter's religious activities and duties as pastor of Friendship Baptist Church (Atlanta, Ga.) and also include writings and sermons of Carter. Scope and Contents The Paradise Missionary Baptist Church Collection spans from 1920 to 2025. It comprises a wide range of materials, including administrative records, church programs (encompassing anniversary celebrations, Women's Day, Men's Day, and Youth Day), funeral programs, special events, ministries, auxiliaries, correspondence, certificates, photographs, and ephemera.
