The Jesse O. Thomas papers document his career and family life spanning more than 70 years, including his positions with the National Urban League, Negro Centennial Exposition, Government and the American Red Cross.

The collection contains a significant amount of correspondence, speeches, press releases, minutes, reports, publications, articles, photographs, programs, manuscripts, travel documents, and notes.

The collection comes primarily from Jondelle Johnson’s tenure as Executive Director from 1972-1985 and her leadership with the Special Projects Committee in the 1990s.
