Biographical / Historical

For over 125 years, Pinehurst has celebrated the game of golf. In 1987, Dr. Leroy Culver built the first nine holes of what would go on to become Pinehurst Resort. John Dunn Tucker added the next nine shortly thereafter. Then, in 1901 Donald Ross added his touches, drawing on his Scottish roots to add bunkers across fairways and around the greens.

Currently the Pinehurst Resort has 10 18 hole courses and has hosted the US Open Championship several times.
