Scope and Contents note

Mary Parks Washington documented her artwork and exhibitions, travels, and student projects in photo albums and scrapbooks. Through newspaper clippings, photographs, invitations, and writings, the Booker T. Washington High School scrapbook documents African American school life in Atlanta from 1938-1942. "Offshoots of Roots Unknown" contains visitor comments and photographs of the exhibition at Spelman College. "Atlanta: Remembrances, Impressions... and Reflections" records her exhibition at the Auburn Avenue Research Library, including a catalog of her artwork. The Waikiki Beach and St. Martin photo album features photographs of the artist Romare Bearden under whom Washington studied while in St. Martin.
