Series 7, Personal, contains articles, correspondence, awards, and diaries. Articles are about Jean and/or Andrew Young, education, children, women, and other topics of interest to Jean. Awards include certificates, correspondence, and programs from many local and national organizations, including a posthumous honorary banquet at the APEX Museum. Correspondence is from college friends, family, family friends, acquaintances, former students, colleagues, and is primarily personal, "get well soon" wishes, requests to speak or be involved in organizations, or other professional topics. There are letters from Coretta Scott King (undated), Yolanda King (1990-1993), and Barbara Bush (1982-1983). The notebooks are Young's tasks lists and notes from her various activities. Manchester College material includes grade reports, student activities, articles about Young's election as "May Queen," and her participation on the Board of Trustees. The Schedules and Travel include itineraries, plane tickets, brochures, maps, postcards, and other ephemera about travels to other countries as well as appointment books and schedules of her various activities.
