Scope and Contents note
Series 3, Education, contains correspondence, reports, articles, fliers, programs, meeting minutes and agendas, and ephemera documenting events and programs, schools, organizations, and Young's educational career. There are course catalogs, memos, notes, yearbooks, and course material about her roles as an instructor and Public Relations Officer for Atlanta Junior College. The "Black Studies" folders contain ideas, articles, research, and activities to incorporate African-American history and culture into elementary education in the late 1960s, twenty years before the Atlanta Public Schools implemented a district-wide program.
