The Links, Inc. is a public service, international organization of African-American women that was founded by 2 women in November, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a volunteer organization that is committed to promoting educational, cultural, and civic activities among its membership. It also seeks to provide opportunities for the enrichment of personal friendships. Each chapter initiates, supports and participates in programs designed to address the needs of their communities in the areas of services to youth, the arts, national trends and services, and international trends and services.

The Atlanta Chapter of The Links, Inc. was chartered in February, 1953 with 19 members. The original objectives of this chapter were to help women better understand their civic responsibilities, locally and nationally; to encourage cultural appreciation through the arts; and to help women better understand and assume their social responsibilities, locally and nationally. There are several committees of the Chapter which plan programs and raise funds for many educational institutions and charitable programs in the Atlanta area.
